Village Center Zoning Survey:
Chris Pitts shared a draft of the zoning survey the council intends to send out to the community via email mailing list. Councilors collaborated in a real time working session to edit the survey using the web-based Survey Monkey tool.
Approving The Survey:
After editing was complete and no further comments were made, Sallee Lipshutz started a motion to approve the survey in its current form. Isabelle Albeck seconded the motion. Sallee Lipshutz amended the motion to additional edits that Rena Getz and Chris Pitts would make for grammar and to fill in any placeholder items. Isabelle Albeck again seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote.
Postcard Mailing:
Rena Getz shared a draft of the postcard mailing. The postcard informs recipients that the city council will vote on major changes to Newton’s zoning ordinance. It includes a QR code that links the reader to the WAC website.
Chris Pitts asked where it was being sent? Sallee Lipshutz said that it was going to the WAC catchment area, but hopefully also the other area council catchment areas. The WAC councilors then went over the text of the mailing.
Sallee Lipshutz moved to accept the postcard draft as is, with the addition of a re-ordering of area council logos that Chris Pitts would do. Chris Pitts seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote.
Next meeting will be in a hybrid format at the WLC - Thursday, October 12, 2023, 7:30pm
