Traffic & Pedestrian Safety Improvements at the Intersection of Boylston/Quinobequin & Bolyston/Ellis - MassDOT Draft Plan
- Log in to post comments
In November 2021, John Mordes, President of the Friends of Hemlock Gorge, Representative Ruth Balser, MassDOT staff and Maureen Reilly Meagher met to discuss pedestrian safety improvements at the intersection of Boylston Street/Quinobequin Road and the intersection of Boylston Street/Ellis Street. The attached draft plan outlines minor intersection bumpouts, compliant accessible ramp construction, and signage and pavement marking improvements. The proposal was enacted to enhance the safety of people transiting to the entrance of Hemlock Gorge and the Quinobequin Trail.

Hello Rena,
The draft plan outlines minor intersection bumpouts, compliant accessible ramp construction, and signage and pavement marking improvements at the intersections of Boylston Street/Quinobequin Road and Boylston Street/Ellis Street. I’m happy to answer any other questions but would defer to MassDOT on specific design intent/questions.
Thank you,
Isaac Prizant

Dear Ms. Freedman
We, as the Waban Area Council would like to inform and receive comment from our community of the attached MassDOT proposal (609526_Quinobechin-Ellis[87]). Initial comment has reveal the need to translate the document into layperson terms by someone with engineering expertise. We would appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue.
We would also request your attendance at a future Area Council meeting to explain and answer questions, if you believe you could be of assistance, otherwise I could reach out to the MassDOT. Please advise.
For your information, our March meeting will be on March 8th, with a 7:30pm start time and our April meeting will occur on April 12th. Please let me know if either date works for you, or if you wish to schedule further into the future.
Thank you.
With Regards,
Rena Getz
